If you have seen Invisalens advertised locally and wondered how it differs from Ortho-K, the answer is that it does not. Invisalens is this practice's own branding for the overnight lens programme it has run for decades. The underlying technique is orthokeratology.
What the name refers to is the whole service rather than the lens on its own. Candidacy assessment from corneal topography, a design generated with Certified Wave Designer technology, a diagnostic fit on the eye rather than a mail order lens, insertion and removal taught in person, and the follow up schedule that gets the correction settled properly.
Free Invisalens consultations have been part of what the practice offers locally, and the consultation is genuinely diagnostic rather than a sales appointment. Some people are told they are not good candidates, and that is a more useful outcome than a lens that will not work.
