Careers

Arizona's Vision is an independent, family owned optometry practice in Ahwatukee, running since 1994, with a substantial specialty contact lens caseload and a deliberate two patients per hour schedule.

What working here is like

This is an independent practice rather than a chain. It has been in the same neighbourhood since 1994 and it is not run to a corporate schedule.

The most concrete expression of that is the appointment book: two patients an hour. That halves throughput and it means clinical staff have time to do the job properly, which is the single thing most clinicians say they want and most practices do not provide.

The clinical work

The caseload is unusually weighted towards specialty contact lens fitting. Keratoconus, scleral lenses, post corneal transplant, post refractive irregularity and orthokeratology are routine here rather than occasional, which makes it a good place to develop those skills genuinely rather than nominally.

Alongside that runs a full scope practice: comprehensive examination, ocular disease management, pediatric care, myopia management and surgical co-management.

Roles

Optometrists, opticians, optometric technicians and front desk staff. Bilingual English and Spanish, or English and Vietnamese, is genuinely valued rather than listed as a nice to have.
