A comprehensive examination covers vision, eye health and the systemic conditions that show at the back of the eye. Allow about an hour, and appointments are scheduled two per hour so nothing is rushed.

What this appointment involves
- Pre-testing: lensometry, refractometry, glaucoma screening, corneal topography and Optomap retinal imaging
- A full history covering health, medications and how you use your eyes
- Refraction to determine your prescription
- Binocular vision and focusing assessment
- Eye health examination including the retina and optic nerve
- A discussion of what was found, with your own images on screen
